Movie Review – Easter Sunday (2022)

Read Time:1 Minute, 46 Second

Easter-Sunday_header

Take stand-up comedy bits and turn it into a movie. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. For a comedy, I wasn’t laughing as much as I would have hoped. The movie did have, every family has its rough points but in the end, let’s come together. You know… Live Laugh Love. Wait, did that seem a little forced? So did some of the comedian cameos or stand-up style bits throughout the movie. Not the individual things weren’t funny, they just seem to kind of break up the flow of the movie a little bit. I’m sure a particular cameo will be something people will talk about. (It put a little smile on my face I admit.) Back to what I was saying. Some scenes seem to be a sort of setup for the stand-up style bits. Some parts were over the top ridiculous. Not all of them hit the mark. Overall the movie was fine, good for a few laughs. Don’t go in expecting too much and you’ll do fine.

I’m sure one other takeaway people will have is of course the Filipino representation. Didn’t sway me one way or the other. Maybe it will for you.

Yes. If they like stand-up comedy.

Would I rewatch it?
Sure, at some point.

Would I want to own a copy?
Nope

Must-see in theaters?
To help support, sure. But not a must-see in theaters. Unless of course, you’re interested in the communal viewing experience. I think this movie is fine for a home experience.

Grade: C

About The Peetimes: This is a short movie, so I only found two Peetimes.

There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Easter Sunday. (What we mean by Anything Extra.)

Water drinkers unite

Run pee is the best app for people who find themselves needing to pee a lot but also not wanting to miss any action. The app gives you the best times to use the bathroom during a movie while also telling you when to leave and which lines to listen for! It not only gives you the time you should go pee, but it also explains to you what is happening during the break. I helped I use this app every time I go to the movies now. My god father recommended this app to 5 years ago and it’s been in my phone ever since! Highly recommended.
